Despite emergency regime in Latvia Riga Ridzene Rotary club continues the project aimed to support physicians in the countryside – outside the capital – who are curing people on the everyday bases at the Covid-19 departments in the whole of LATVIA
The Infectious Diseases Department of Liepāja Central Hospital has long longed for fresh water supply. Our common gift – despite the Venden bureaucracy ( one cannot buy the special device for the water from the firm – only to rent), is the water machine rent and water supply for doctors for 6 months. Another gift of our club member Jānis Freibergs – a TV set for doctors’ and medical sisters’premises and two coffee machines and capsules.
Kārsava ambulance brigade was also donated the TV and the coffee machines and capsules. Alltogether Riga Ridzene Rotary club donated 22 coffee machenes and capsules (for 1751,- eur) to Viļāni, Varakļāni, Ludza, Vecumnieki, Nereta, Aknīste, Grobiņa, Viesīte, Aizkraukle, Jaunjelgava, Nīca and Priekule hospitals and Medical emergency brigades.
A special gift was presented to the Specialized Medical Assistance Center of the EMS Service in Riga – an air purification device with an air humidification function necessary for the safer work of on-call registrars. They accept calls for two adult resuscitation brigades, one pediatric resuscitation brigade and two specially equipped neonatology brigades on duty in Riga every day. The equipment produced by Japanese company Daikin is based on new technologies meant for the air purification. It has been proved to be an experiment with a a very high level of purification and protection of Coronavirus SARS-CoV-2. (561,- eur).
Apart from it Riga Ridzene Rotary club has supported Ventspils Rotary club with 450,00 euros to organize Easter party lunches.
